I have been listening to this song with Jack at night since he was born. The song is so sweet and I thought I would share for any Moms or Moms-to-Be!
You can listen to it on this link!

Safe and Sound
by Matthew West
Can’t believe you’re here now
Tiny dream come true
The answer to a prayer now
I’m so in love with you
Couldn’t wait to meet you
Hope you like your name
I get the funny feeling
Life will never be the same
Safe and sound
You’re here with me now
Like I hoped you’d be
Safe and sound
You’re here with me now
And that’s all I’ll ever need
The world’s a scary place here
But baby it’s alright
I’ll make sure the coast is clear
So you can just sleep tight
But if you’re afraid of monsters
Like everybody is
I’ll be right beside you
Closer than a kiss
Safe and sound
I’m here with you now
And you will always be
Safe and sound
I’m here with you now
And that’s all you’ll ever need
Someday I’m gonna teach you
The reason why we pray
So that heaven’s love may reach you
Every single day
So, baby close your eyes now
And say a prayer with me
Lord, I lay me down to sleep now
But I know I will be
Safe and sound
You’re here with us now
And we will always be
Safe and sound You’re here with us now
And that’s all we’ll ever, all we’ll ever need
You’re all we’ll ever need

Love the Weekends!
Mike has been traveling all week to Nashville, and will be for the following 2 weeks. This week Jack and I stayed at my parents house. I was still a little nervous staying alone with Jack all day and all night. It was a great week and they are such a huge help. On Thursday morning Mom & Dad left for Naples, and of course Wednesday night was one of Jacks worst nights! Not going to lie I was a little angry with him. I was feeding him, changing him, bouncing him....and nothing would calm that fussy baby.
So in order not to go totally crazy I filled my day up with visitors!
Barb Hamilton brought me lunch from Panera and lots of decorating samples for her Master bedroom that she is redoing. It was SO refreshing to talk about something besides the baby. I mean I love him to death, but it was nice to talk about something different. THANK YOU Barb! It was so fun and so sweet!
Our next visitors were Christy and Emmet. Emmet is 4 months old now and such a cutie! Christy and I have been friends since we were in like 4th grade, and then there we were on Thursday sitting on the couch breastfeeding our babies. I had to laugh. What a blessing to have a lifelong friend go through the same stage of baby life with.
Taylor was our last visitor of the day. She is always such a help. Finally Jack rested for 2 hours, he just slept right on her. I didn't want to let her leave! Ben called here the "baby whisperer". Taylor has been such an amazing supportive friend through everything, and she is such a resource always asking all of her Moms at work for baby advice. She keeps me sane!
So for Thursday night it was just me and Ben. What a great brother he was! First he mad me a delicious dinner and then after a few glasses of wine for Ben, Jacks crying didn't bother him at all and he was holding him and calming him down. We LOVE Uncle Ben!
Mike got home on Friday and boy were we happy to see him! He's such an amazing Dad that's why it is so hard when he is gone. But I will say it does make me appreciate the time I do have with him.
Saturday we had visitors again! Kody & Lolo!
It was such a wonderful Saturday catching up with friends!
We haven't been to church yet since Jack has been born. But we do watch it live on the web Sunday mornings. They have been having an amazing series on Families. http://www.willowcreek.org/home1.aspx
Then Mike stayed with Jack all by himself for the first time while I just went and roamed the streets of Deer Park Mall. I knew Mike could handle it even though Jack is a handful at this point. It was so refreshing to just walk and shop. I needed some new makeup and I knew that Jack would not be patient in Sephora, so it was fabulous to get that out of the way. I was gone for 2 hours and I was so excited to get home and see my little man!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!

We made it to 1 Month!
Our little man is 1 month!
Jack at your 4 week appointment on Thursday you were 22.5 inches long and 10.3 lbs!
You are a very hungry growing boy!
Not much of a sleeper yet...unless you are being held. At night we can get about 3 hours in your crib, when your very patient daddy lays you down. Your Mom finds it easier to just cuddle in bed.
You LOVE to cuddle and did we mention being held!
You like the pacifier and your mobile...as well as looking at iron work on the walls.
Your newborn diapers and clothes no longer fit:(
Speaking of diapers and clothes changes....you DO NOT LIKE THEM. Which can be pretty tough at 3am. Hopefully you start to like those.
We get some smiles but we are waiting (and begging) for more!
When we bath you you fuss when your front gets washed up but love when we turn you on your back.
Right now you have 3 states: sleeping, eating, and crying. In the books they classify you as an "ACTIVE" baby. Your Gma says thats what your Mom was so I am getting payback! Ha.
Everyday your Daddy and I love you more!
