Hope Girls, 2 New Additions to the Group

Simply wonderful Sunday spent with my best girlfriends and our Moms, plus the two new additions to the group, Charlotte and Lucy! Lolo, the fab host, had us all over for brunch celebrating Kiki being in town! Kiki was visiting from VA, it had been 18 months since I had seen her last! Crazy. Sad. And stupid. I missed her whole pregnancy and the first 4 months of sweet Charlie's life. Thank goodness for iPhone cameras!

Anyways, my friendship with these girls and the Moms has been such a blessing in my life. What fun it will be for all of our kids to have one another in their lives too, we have to keep planning fun events even as the group keeps expanding, and half of us are now out of state. At 4 months old Charlotte was such a talker, and at 2 months old Lucy just kept passing out. I hope they proudly hang these pictures in their dorm room at Hope College one day! This day was by far one of my absolute favorites of the year!

Lucy Hope: 2 Months Old

Sweet little Lucy Hope you are already two months old. They have been a crazy two months filled with lots of traveling and you have just been such a flexible little baby. At two months old you weigh 11'4 pounds and are 24 inches tall (50% for both).

You are eating every 2.5 hours, with a long sleep from 11pm to 3:15 am, when we usually get to talk to your Daddy in Finland. Each day you are waking up more and have started to smile and coo, which we can't get enough of! A little messy you are at two months old, always spitting up, you pee when we change your diaper, and sometimes you have projectile poop! I never knew that was even possible!

So far you have taken 2 half bottles, one from Mimi and one from Oma, but you are really not a fan of them at all. In this past month you have become much more of Mama's girl and you want to be held all of the time, but you take great naps throughout the day so my arms do get a rest. Your favorite spot is in the sling, and I love my view of your sweet baby doll lips. Eyes and hair color is still a mystery to us.

Sweet girl you have made our entire family so very very happy!

Happy Birthday Papa

You are one amazing man and I am glad that we all got together to celebrate you! You always put your family first but have always worked so hard to provide for us everything we could have ever wanted. The balance you have had over my entire life is remarkable. Thank you for all of your support through daily texts, emails, phone calls. And for loving my little family so much! You are the best and we love ya!

We all enjoyed a gorgeous sunset, a yummy dinner of cabbage rolls from Oma, and Mom's famous carrot cake! Jack loved Uncle Dave, we kept telling him that Uncle Dave lives right by the "castle" and that if he poops on the potty we can go see Uncle Dave! Uncle Dave tried the teasing method and called Jack "little dumper", something that apparently worked on my cousin Josh but didn't phase stubborn Jack. Of course Jack's BFF Opa was there too:) So he was really spoiled.

Postma family of four!

Wishing you MANY more happy birthdays and wonderful years!!

Packer Game

For Dad's Birthday he got tickets to the Bears Packers game for Ben, Mike, and his brothers Dave (from FL)  & John (from central IL)! All over 6'4 they piled into one car and headed up to GreenBay. From the iPhone pictures, videos, and stories I can attest that they had a wonderful time. Their lack of voices the next day makes me think that many a beers were consumed and lots of laughs followed. I think one of the funniest things is that they slept in bunk beds at the hotel. And the funny video of Mike dancing, which Jack not imitates and calls "Daddy's Packer Dance". Very cool of my Dad to plan fun bonding trips like this, I think it is an important part in building a strong foundation for a family, and Dad seriously excels at it (always has). It was also so much fun to have Lucy meet her Great Uncle Rinker's, she was pretty impressed by them both! I only wish we got to see them more often!

So while they were at the Packer's Game we had a girls night. I made some Butternut squash soup and Mom made brandy alexander's for dessert.

The afternoon after pictures:)

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend at the Postma home was full of relaxing. It was a crazy month of August on the go, so it was a treat to just relax as our little family of 4 (plus Dutch). Plenty of time at the park, pool, church, taking walks, and snuggling on the couch. We were happy that Preppy choose to watch the big Alabama/Michigan game with us in Louisville, not Dallas. But we were bummed the Big Blue lost, Jack loves to cheer "Go Blue". Sad to see summer end, it went bye too quickly this year!
