The weather in Alabama has been I N C R E D I B L E. Everyday they say the next is going to get colder, but I think we are on our 3rd week of 70 degrees. The Midwest girl in me wants to buy up all of the sweaters on sale at Banana because it can't possibly be spring yet and the deals are so good...but I seriously think it may be spring! Craziness! Everyday we walk like 4 miles, than another 1 mile before dinner, go to the park, and play in the yard. My backdoor is now permanently open to the screened in porch. I love it though because Jack gets to run his little chubby legs around and we get to hangout with the neighbors:)

Jacks Week in iPhone Pics
On tonights "TO DO" list is a blog update, but while Jack is strapped in his highchair eating through a pint of blueberries I thought I would post some pictures from this week! I send my family like 5 picture texts a day, they have probably had enough of me, but I can't help myself. Wanted to post some for those of you that I don't bombard on a daily basis:) We have spent most of the week outside in the yard, on walks, or at the park. Jacky Bear is on the go all the time!

Jack Gets His Groove On
The Jacky Bear has always loved music and the sight of people dancing, in my iTunes there is still a playlist titled, Colicky Baby Dance Mix. But now Jack doesn't just enjoying watching, he has started to get a few moves of his own. He claps his hands, drops his butt, and moves his head right to left. The video I'm posting doesn't do his smooth moves justice as he was distracted by me recording and not breaking out my moves with him. We have many 'o dance parties throughout the day! I'm sure we have made neighbors passing by our house laugh at the sight of us through our front windows.
Jacks current 2011 Dance Party Playlist includes:
#1. "Dog Days Are Over", Florence + The Machine
#2. "Stuck Like Glue", Sugarland
#3. "Say Hey I Love You", Michael Franti and Spearhead
#4. "I Want You Back", Jackson 5
#5. "Sugar Sugar", The Archies
#6. "Firework", Katy Perry

Chocolate
I am not a huge chocolate fan, but Preppy and little Bear love it, mostly when combined with peanut butter. Jack does not get it that often, but the other day I let him have the last homemade cookie in the jar. He laughed and smiled with every lick and bite. Too cute not to share with my readers on a Monday!

Atlanta Day Trip to See Alexa!
The Hamilton's have been a part of my life since before I can even remember. So when Alexa, the rockstar swimmer from Maryland, informed us back in June that the ACC championship was in Atlanta we put it in our calendar.
Early Saturday morning we loaded up the new Postma family Buick (name still TBD) for the 2 hour car trip. But of course we hit construction and traffic and missed Alexa's race! Argh! Jack was so impressed with the Georgia Tech aquatic center, he kept looking at us like "you brought my suit right?". Maybe he will surprise everyone and not do the basketball/baseball/football route but be the next Michael Phelps:)
It was so much fun to see the familar faces! We got to spend some time with Alexa at the hotel before she had to go back and rest for the nights events. Greg & Barb treated us to a great lunch, luckily we got to sit outside so I didn't feel quite so bad about Jack's mess. Jack was in love with Barb!
Alexa did great! She is one dedicated athlete that is for sure. Amazes me!

Great Saturday with awesome family friends and happy to report the Buick is a wonderful road trip car:)

A Peak into Our Valentine's Day
I have always loved Valentine's Day. Total hopeless romantic. You all know how I love old classic romantic movies, anything frank, and the oldies:) Well on Valentine's Day I totally cheese it out and get all old school on Preppy. He makes me modern, I think I was meant to live in the 50's or 60's.
Jack was a super cute mini-Valenitne all day. We went on a long morning walk and then a date to Starbucks. After nap time we headed to Gina's for a wonderful play group Valentine's Day party. Once the Daddy got home we gave Jack his little Valentine's Day book, opened presents, and then put the little bear to bed. For dinner I made one of Mike's favorite meals from Chicago, Gianni's Country Rigatoni and an heirloom tomato salad. After dinner we sat, drank wine, and chatted.
Just the way I had always dreamed it would be...
8th Valentine's Day for Preppy and I.
Each Valentine's Day spent together has just gotten better!
He's awesome.
Each year he has made me feel more special, loved and lucky.
As a Mom I have tried to think of cute ways to celebrate Valentine's Day for my son, because I have such fond memories of it growing up. Before Preppy my Dad was my Valentine, he always made sure to get me flowers and a card, from my 1st Valentine's until the Valentine's before I was married. Sweetest Dad, never made me feel bad for not having a boyfriend on Valentine's Day. I also think he purposely planned our annual family ski vacations out west during Valentine's Day so I couldn't get a date:) Dad's with daughters out there, your little girls will always remember the sweet things you do for her, never underestimate them! I can only hope boys remember the sweet things too...

Go Pack Go
A few days late with this post...
Go Pack Go! Way to win the Superbowl! It was so much fun to have my Dad, the ultimate Packer fan, here for the game. Still cracks me up how men turn into little kids watching their favorite teams in a big game. The nerves, excitement, anticipation...
I had planned a very festive champion Superbowl party even thought it was just the 5 of us. But before our festivities began we headed out to Trussiville where Mike's office was getting together. It was awesome for my parents to get to meet everyone, they are such an incredible group of people that have made the transition to the south much easier. When your Hubby is happy with what they do at work, it makes a much happier home:) Anyways, we all showed up there in our Packers gear, probably the only family in this state completely outfitted.
Back home we indulged in lots of goodies. I had so many recipes that I wanted to try out on family first, you know before I fed them to friends! We had all homemade from scratch: Jalapeno poppers, Zucchini Sticks (instead of mozzarella), Greek ranch dip, edamame dip, focaccia bread, chili, sugar heart cookies, and Courtney's "Compromise" peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Full portions made for just the 5 of us:)
Everyone was satisfied with the food and with the game! What a fun memorable night...
