Blondie Boys

I feel like the past few days have had very similar looking pictures. Sorry. I am just in love with Jack these days. He still gets under my skin at times, but he is so darn cure. Amazing how quickly he is learning things these days. Like a little sponge. Still not talking that much, I mean he is talking his own language, but the english language not so much. BUT you can tell him to do something and he knows just what to do. Like go get my shoe. Go get your Dad's shoe. Okay that just sounded like I was talking to the dog. Opps. But you get the point. He knows what we are talking about now! But then you discipline him, and well then, he has no clue what you are blabbing about.

Anyways, these days I am just really seeing him grow up so quickly.

I am trying to take a million pictures and capture each moment! These days are going to be gone before we realize it. Little boys don't stay small like yorkie's forever.

Love my blondie boys with all my heart...

Snack Stealer

My summer soundtrack is starting to be played in the car, "The Joker", of course is on it. So in my head I keep singing, "Some people call him the snack stealer...". Maybe I am spending to much time in the sun.

The pool is officially open and we have been enjoying it to the max everyday! When I think of pool I think of playing in the water. When Jack thinks of pool he thinks, checking out the other kids snacks. And giving the older 9 year old girls those big blue puppy dog eyes so they will feed bad for the baby and feed him. Like he's starving. Yeah right look at the belly:)

For Jack's first 17 months I haven't been much a of snack buyer. I try to get him to eat fruit and veggies, cheese and yogurt. Notice how I started this out with try. Jack doesn't always want what is put in front of him. Anyways, strawberries have no chance making when put up against cheese crackers and chocolate chip granola bars. So instead of letting Jack be know as the neighborhood mooch, I went to Target and loaded up on some pool essentials.

Remember just last week I posted about Jack's big straw dilemma, well he is a pro now at the Capri Suns. His little Bear paws can't grab onto one fast enough.

Totally admit the packaged goods are a million times easier to cart to the pool. I gave in.

A Mom must be flexible:)

Mother's Day

This year marked my 2nd Mother's Day, but first one where I was the only Mother around. It was sad not being with family and getting to celebrate the amazing Mom/Oma/Aunt of mine. I know that I would not even be close to the Mom I am without the fabulous role model I have in my Mom! The woman never sits, it used to make me nervous because she was always a busy body, but now I totally understand why...there just isn't enough time in the day to sit! Now I hate to sit too. Like Mother like Daughter:)

It was a great day, Mike made sure I enjoyed my day off.

Jack took a super long morning nap which left Mike and I the chance to spend some relaxing quality time together. It seems like we haven't spent much couple time together lately, Mike has been so busy with work and me with the social scene (haha). Anyways, it was sweet and much needed.

Once Bear woke up Mike took him to Costco for dinner ingredients (Mike cooked dinner and cleaned up). Then we headed to the Resort pool. The neighborhood pool wasn't open yet on Sunday, so it was nice to have the option of going to the Resort pool. After a few hours at the pool we came back to the house, Mike made dinner and Jack and I lounged on the couch. A treat. And my little Bear feel asleep cuddling me. He never does it anymore, too much on the move. So it was the perfect ending to a relaxing day.

I love being Mom. It is more work than I could have ever imagined. Always multitasking. Always. Because the "To Do List" is never ending. But when your husband appreciates you and your little boy loves on you...well I just I feel like the happiest lady around:) Even though I get stressed out and overwhelmed at times, being a Mom is just as incredible as I dreamed it to be!

Wonderful Days & Nights in the Neighborhood

Alabama is back to how I like it, 80 and sunny! This weather brings everyone out and the social calendar starts to fill up, which is just how we like it. From dinner parties to big neighborhood get togethers to Moms nights out, we enjoy them all and are so thankful for all of our friends down here!

Countdown to the Pool Opening

The RB pool opens Monday May 9th, and are we ready!

This past weekend Glenn & Gayle (Mike works with Glenn) invited us to their gorgeous house in Trussville and heated up their pool for Jack! It was such a treat after what seemed like a very long week. When you are outside at their house you think you are in the wine country of California. I could totally get used to that setting:) It was Jack's first time wearing the "Puddle Jumper" and surprisingly he did not mind one bit. It helped getting him to kick his legs on his own, but I don't want to keep him in the little floaty too much because he needs to swim on his own. But like I said, it helped him to kick his legs, so hopefully that means it will be a way to tire him out!

We enjoyed hours in the pool and then had a delicious dinner. Jack stayed up to "party" of course until we left around 9:30pm. The afternoon and evening was just perfect, another reminder of how fortunate we are for the people Mike works with!

Straw Trouble

Jack just can not get the hang of drinking out a straw. He loves to play with them, especially when out to eat and Mom is in "dry clean" clothes only. Jack sees straws as stirring sticks and teething toys, not as a means to drinking his Num Num. These pictures crack me up because he really thought he had it this time. One day my little Bear you will conquer drinking out of the straw I just know it!

Oh Kentucky Derby...

One of the items on my "Bucket List" is: to attend the Kentucky Derby. The dresses, hats, mint juleps, and horses....ah the fun. Back in Chicago we try to spend some summer afternoons at the Arlington Park Race Track, really hoping to take Jack there in May or June this year.

So not only have I always wanted to attend the Derby, but I would love to own a horse. One day Mike one day:) I figured that my argument of needing a horse would be more effective if Jack and those big-blue-puppy-dog eyes were on my side as well. In order to get him to love these beautiful creatures like I do, I figured he had to be introduced at a young age. When we were back in Barrington Mrs. Drury let us come out to feed their horses....and YES Jack was in love!

Anyone lucky enough to attend the Kentucky Derby this weekend have so much fun!!!

We also got to visit with sweet Spartacus Hamilton, learning that Jack is not afraid by the size of any animal, he wants to just hug on them all. Love that he is a huge animal lover!

Right or Left

This Mercedes ad just cracks me up.

Mike and I can clearly lean more to one side than the other. Your guess to who is which side.

So I wonder...which side is Jack going to take?
