Halloween Sneak Peak

We are having some friends over here tomorrow before trick-or-treating for Chili. I can't wait to get all of the boys together, they are all little animals. I wanted to post some sneak peak pictures for you all that have been asking what Jack is going to be. I think his banana (aka Dutch) makes the costume even more adorable:)

"Mimi, what the heck is on my head?"

"Mom, how does this costume make my profile look? I feel like my tummy looks big. "

Pumpkin Photo

So this is a photo of me, Jenny, at 7 months old. My Mom and Dad wanted me to recreate the "Pumpkin Shot" with Jack to see if if he looked anything like me or if he was all Postma:) This was a much harder task than we anticipated. A 7 month old sits still longer than an almost 11 month old. We may have to tackle this photo opp again...

The best one I think.

We Made It With A Little Help From My Friends

Really, I am not that big of a baby. I have spent plenty of nights alone while Mike traveled for business, too many when we were back in Chicago. And once Jack was born I even spent a few nights alone in the condo. But when Mike left for Pittsburgh this week I was nervous.

In Chicago I knew where everything was and I had lots of people to call for an emergency. I'm still the new kid on the block here and just not as familiar with everything. I have to call my "GinaPS" for directions whenever I go anywhere. Plus when Jack was a itty bitty baby he just needed to be feed, changed, and rocked. Now he is needs LOTS of entertainment. I didn't know if I could occupy him 24/7 with no pool to go to.

Luckily I have incredible friends here! Volree and Gina both had me over for dinner. What a treat, because as a Mom you know that the hardest hours are from 4-bedtime. They just are. So I got to spend some great quality time with friends and get a yummy meal out of the deal:) Maybe Mike should travel more often again..

Not only was I alone for the first time second guessing myself if I could do it, but there were awful storms Tuesday through Thursday am! The tornado alarms even went off, which totally freaked me out!!!

Anyways, we made it with a little help from my friends:)

The creepy weather.

My buddy. He knew we could do it:)

Bonus Day

Monday morning started out with a trip to the airport to sadly drop off Mimi & Papa. About a mile away from the airport exit we all heard a pop. Yep, the back right tire was flat. There we were on the intersection of 65 and 20 with a baby, a dog (with no collar), me in my pajamas, and my parents trying to get on their plane! We had never changed a tire in the X5 and those german manuals were not telling us where the tire was.

Everyone was getting stressed and sweaty sitting on a busy intersection with a crying baby. My Dad was cool and collected just trying to find the tire and call the airline.

The only other time I have ever had a flat tire I was on a very busy highway (I already forget the names of the streets) in Chicago during rush hour and my tire blew. My Dad had to leave work and meet me in the dark and change my tire because Mike was out of town. Now that I think of it I think that it was the week before Halloween too!!! That's just weird.

Anyways, poor Mike again was out of town, and I called him in panic because I was trying to get my parents on their flight. Of course they weren't going to leave me, but I was telling them it's okay I could handle it. Then this Alabama transportation truck pulls up next to us and changes our tire for free! Like that's their job. AMAZING! He knew where the tire was and we were out of their in 10 minutes. Of course, the spare had some weird bubble on it so we went to a tire place Mike had been in Trussville and bought two new tires.

Exciting part of the day was we got to keep Mom and Dad until the late afternoon!

I told them Jack didn't want them to leave... :)

Hometown Fair

It's just me and Jack this week so my posts may be short and sweet:) I want to get these pictures up so Mike can see them while gone. We miss you! Sunday there was a Hometown Fair in the neighborhood and it was a gorgeous day to just be out and about. Jack is just soaking in all of the attention...get ready little buddy the eyes on you are down from 6 to 2 today!

Hometown Fair in the neighborhood!

There wasn't much for Jack to do, so we just walked around>

New favorite way to be carried.

Not all grandson's get to ride on a 6'9 Papa:)

Went to the park and did some swinging.

Trying to get a cute picture with a smiling Jack.

Guess there are too many distractions.

Love our back yard!

This is how Jack crawls on the grass, we all think it is way funny. Probably a lot funnier than it actually is.

Saturday with the Family

This Saturday was simply wonderful. Gorgeous weather and my family together. Started off the day with our pancake tradition and then went out for a long walk through the neighborhood. We walked down to the golf course to look at the changing colors and take some pictures. It was way too bright to get any good pictures of the colors, but we tried. Jack nodded off in the radio flyer and had to be carried the rest of the way home.

Mom was so much help this afternoon organizing Jack's clothes. It amazes me how much this little baby has. And how quickly he grown out of everything. The guys watched football and then the Harris family came over for the Auburn game. We had a great time! The boys are starting to play more together, we just need to get that whole sharing thing down.

Finished out the day with a yummy meal out on the patio. Love the cool breeze and rustling of the leaves while enjoying a good meal and glass of wine with the family:)

Trying to take in every minute I have with everyone, not planning or thinking too far ahead, which is hard for me. I have the planner disease.

*I know I post a ton of pictures...probably too many. But I know that's what the family and friends back home want to see:)

We put Luke to work when he comes over.

Love the pink sunset sky.

Night walk in the 'hood.

I broke out the crystal...does anyone else find they never use it?
