Mimi & PaPa Visit Part 1

Mom and Dad got here Thursday at 5...I was SOOO excited!!! So was Jack and Dutch:) Mike picked them up at the airport and the 3 of us got the house all ready for a belated birthday celebration.

Here they are reunited! Jack was excited to show off in his walker and to show them how he can inhale puffs.

Birthday Girl!

She liked her presents but I think Mimi was most excited about her Jack.

Loved the paper. Christmas will be fun! After dinner we headed to the minor league baseball game down the street. Thank you Gina for the tickets! Jack loves baseball games!

Not at the age yet where he willingly poses for pictures. Ha.

We have an armadillo in our backyard, so I had to get this picture! I don't think ours is so cute though.

Of course he couldn't make the entire 9 innings! Ohh I love sleeping babies...

FRIDAY: Mike went to work. Dad ran, we walked. Then we headed to the pool. After lunch we played with Jack then Mom and I went for a mani/pedi. Then more pool time!! Then dinner at Bottega Cafe, it was so yummy!

Playing rough with Papa. A favorite.

Dutch is patiently waiting for his time.

Cheers!!

Who is having more fun???

They did this for like an hour! Jack loves the fountains!!

Awesome dinner!

Ahh the Alabama heat wore these two out!

Georgia Peaches Have Nothing on Alabama Peaches...

On Tuesday Gina and I headed down to Clanton Alabama in Chilton County (the peach capital of Alabama) to visit the "Peach Park"! The building is nothing fancy but the ice cream was to DIE FOR! Honestly one of the tastiest things in my life. After ice cream we bought some fresh farm produce and made the boys take some touristy pictures. Hmm...wonder what our field trip next week will be?

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!

I can only think of one other year I wasn't with you on your birthday! This has been very weird for me...but knowing that we are going to celebrate in just 2 days makes missing out on all the fun today a LOT easier! I don't even know where to begin. You are such a blessing to my life. To Jack's life. And to Mike. You have made life easier and shown each of us unconditional love. As a mother and wife I have no clue how I am going to live up to your standards! The perfect house, fabulous cook, and most loving supportive mom there is! I thank you and thank God that we were given YOU! May you have the most amazing year of your life yet! You still work SO HARD...relax a little this year! ENJOY:)
We love you!!!!

Laughing Jack

As you can tell from my most recent posts I remembered how to post videos! These are all from my phone, I need to go to an Apple class to figure out how to share the real videos (if anyone uses iMovie and YouTube let me know). This is a short post but I have to share this video and of course some pictures! We think it is just way too cute. Nothing like a baby laughing, especially when that baby is yours!

Jack and the Zoo

On Wednesday Gina took Jack, Luke, and I to the zoo!!!! Reason #237 that I was so excited to have a little kid is that I would always have an excuse to go to the zoo! And now I found a friend that shares that same love of the zoo:) It was a tad hot this am, but we got there early and there are plenty of trees supplying the much needed shade. Jack loved the animals. Particularly the small goats and monkeys! It is so fun to have double dates with our boys!

Not too sure about the flamingos.

Jack was laughing so hard at the monkey's, but then there was a VERY excited 2 year old who stole the show.

Very tired boys!

My favorite:)

Mr. Boe Visit!

We had the most wonderful surprise this week! Mr. Boe (my best friend Sara's Dad) came to visit! He was staying like 10 minutes away from us and in between meetings Jack snuck in a visit. Not going to lie I was getting a little homesick this week, and getting a big 'ol Mr. Boe bear hug is just what I needed!

I have just started feeling homesick because I want Jack to see all of the people that were so generous and thoughtful to our family when Jack was born. He was such a pill, and now at 7 months his personality is coming out and he is SO much more fun! Hopefully some of you are reading the blog:) Know that your support and encouragement in the beginning has not been forgotten! We miss you all!

I have to include this funny video of Jack chasing after Dutch. It is right before bedtime so he is kind of slow, but it's funny:)

Weekend Update

It was a very social weekend for the Postma family! Friday night Gina and I stopped by the Ross Bridge Ladies Night out Luau. It was so much fun to meet more neighbors and to have a couple of baby free hours (as much as I love him it is nice sometimes). Saturday morning we went to the Ross Bridge farmer's market and got Jack some "Alabama" boy outfits:) All the little boys wear these cute little rompers and Jack just HAD to have some!

Later on Saturday night we had a group of friends over for dinner...and all of the babies! Dutch did so good!!! I thought he was going to have a heart attack with 5 babies under 10 months in the house, but he was a good host.
Jack on the other hand did NOT want to share his toys, or the other girl in the group Maddie. He was all over her. Funniest moment was when Gina held Dutch and Jack just burst out screaming while looking her straight in the eyes. We need to work on sharing ASAP.

Oh how the parties have changed with the babies! However, after dinner once the babies were asleep, we still got in a a few rounds of competitive board games!

Sunday morning was an early one again. Jack does not sleep past 4am! We bring him into our bed and the latest he sleeps is 5:45am. Mike made us some delicious omelets and then we got ready for Mike's work pool party out in Trussville. It was so much fun and everyone was so nice! Again, another sign that even though I miss my family terribly, this was the right move for us. On a side note, they had the most incredible garden!!! When my Oma comes and visits I have to take her there. Everything just grows bigger in Alabama!

Hope ya'll had a good weekend as well!
