Bobo Does Kentucky

Bobo finally made his way down to Kentucky for a quick visit on Sunday to meet baby Lucy and check out our new home. Love the kind of guest that arrives early in the morning and cooks a gourmet breakfast for you right away:) Jack certainly enjoyed having his Bobo in town, he was the chosen one for cuddles, crafts, and story time. Lucy is just 9 days old and such a peanut! Of course she loves to be held the most, and with all of these extra set of hands around no one minds!

Lucy Meets Grandma & Grandpa Postma

On Saturday Grandma and Grandpa Postma came to meet Lucy and visit with Jacky Bear. Mimi was here to help host since I was still a bit disheveled. So disheveled I tried to put down two dozen of rose stems that Mike got me, down the disposable after I clipped them. How long can I blame things on baby brain? Because I can't blame it on "blonde" anymore my roots are way too dark. Good thing Grandpa came to quickly fix the problem! It's so wonderful that Lucy got to meet both sets of grandparents in her first 8 days of life. We know she, just like her brother, is showered in love & prayers.

How much does Mike look like his Mom! It's crazy!!! Thank you for making the long road trip! Love to see you Postma's!

Lucy's 1st Week Home

The first week home with our new beautiful addition was basically spent on cloud nine. Lucy Hope mostly slept, nursed, and cuddled. Rarely did our pink bundle of joy cry. Mike headed back to work Monday morning, but I had Mimi, so all was good!

Having my Mom at the house gave me plenty of time to just hold and bond with sweet Lucy while she kept Jack busy. They are best buddies Mimi and Jack, he follows her everywhere, asking lots of questions along the way. So far Jack has done great with having Lucy in the house, he doesn't really pay much attention to her at all, but one time I did find him playing his Mickey guitar for her and dancing around the swing.

He will look at her and say, "ooooohhhh she's so little". It's adorable and I have to catch that on camera. She is so little, and then Lucy tucks up into this little ball, and then stretchs her arms and legs way out. I forgot how teeny tiny they start out. This little miracle with her whole life a head of her. We play the game of "who does she look like", at this time Lucy favors her Mom, but I have a feeling her Dad's blue eyes are starting to shine through.

Two nights in the first week Lucy gave her Mommy and Daddy a 4.5 hour stretch of sleep. I can totally function off 4 hours of sleep, crossing our fingers its the norm and not just some fluke. Welcoming baby #2 into our house has been much different than with #1. We are just so much more relaxed, not afraid of breaking the baby, and we know that these sleepless nights all come to an end soon enough. Every moment we are trying to enjoy. Our family feels so complete and I just feel incredibly blessed.

Happy Birthday Mimi

Happy Birthday Mimi!!! Thank you so much for all of your help, encouragement, and love! I am not sure that doing my laundry and changing my toddler's stinky diapers is exactly how you want to spend celebrating your day. But I promise that we will make it up to you in food, bourbon, and hugs! Seriously, this week has been wonderful because you were here and so much help! There is nothing like a Mother's love. So blessed that we are best friends and that my kids have such an amazing role model in their life! We love you pretty lady!
