He had a great weekend celebrating despite the triple digit temps and a 9 month pregnant wife. I couldn't plan much because we had to stick around Louisville as the due date for Lucy is quickly approaching, I still wanted to make it super special for my sweet husband. We also wanted to celebrate with Jack and not go out just the two of us, so a pretty chill weekend filled with family time and Preppy's favorite foods was planned.
Then around 3pm we got a surprise...Mom & Dad decided that morning to drive down because they wanted to be there to celebrate Mike too! All 3 of us (and Dutchie) were shocked and flattered! That is one of the hardest things about living away from family, not getting to be together for all of the fun stuff, so the fact that they made the long drive for such a quick trip meant the world to us. No one has ever surprised us like that before which made it even more fun! As Dad said, "it's all about making the memories"!
Now it was a party:) The pool was frequented and refreshing cocktails enjoyed by those that could! We made Mike's favorite traditional birthday meal, a re-creation from Gianni's of Country Rigatoni, and he blew out the candles on his favorite carrot cake. I hope he felt loved and special because he deserves it...
