We all piled in the Lexus for Wrigley Field midday on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The Cubs were playing the Cardinals and it was baby Jack's first Cubs experience! Our seats were great, but because we were in the shade it was a little chilly (hence the ski cap Jack is wearing). Advice for Moms: Always bring layers and hats for your baby, people will poke fun at your large diaper bag, but you never know when it will come in handy. Wonderful day! Thanks Dad & Mom:) Watch out everyone Jack will be on that mound one day winning it for the Cubs!

4 Years Later
4 years ago this weekend Mike and I closed on "The Condo". It was the hottest Memorial Day weekend any of us could remember and we had both of our families helping us spruce up our new home. 4 years later on Memorial Day weekend we are starting to pack up our first home. I have bittersweet feelings of leaving this place. On one hand we are growing as a family and we need more space, and it is a miracle we sold in this market. On the other hand this was where we came back from our honeymoon as Mr. & Mrs. Postma, brought home baby Dutch, and just recently baby Jack. We have great memories of this place filled with family and friends. The Condo has been with us since the start of our marriage, the start of our family. We've grown up together under this roof as a couple. And it's been a good roof to live under:)
We are off to our first Cubs game with Jack! Not sure if there will be many posts this weekend because we will have no TV or internet! Have a good and safe holiday weekend everyone!

6 Month Check Up
Time has been flying bye at a crazy speed. Jack had his 6 month check up today!
Weight: 19'9 (90th percentile)
Height: 28.75 (off the charts...now who would have guessed that?)
Jack showed the Dr. how he sits and also how he grabbed things...like her pen and his chart. She was always impressed on how he hung onto things...like her pen and his chart.
I was concerned that he wanted to eat so much at not even 6 months, 4 meals and 7-8 nursing sessions, but she said to just feed that baby when he is hungry. I told her there wasn't a food he has tasted that he doesn't like yet. She also said that his high activity was a good sign...yeah come live with him for a day!
No I am totally kidding!!!!
I was so thankful to get a good report! A healthy baby is the greatest gift!
My little Bear was tired today after his shots, he went to bed at 7pm, I wonder how long that will last?
I should go to bed, but I can't I have to watch American Idol. Yep I still love that show. We haven't watched this season as closely as we have watched seasons in the past, but I really like the last two contestants.
Here's a picture of my Bear with cups...I googled what to with active 6 month olds...1 person suggested cups. They were right he likes them! Well likes to bang them. But whatever he was entertained!

Backyard Pool Time
Grandma...Mimi...Gma...Omie...she's not sure what she is going to be called yet. Well she got Jack a little pool for the backyard so he could cool off on these hot days. He LOVED it.
Papa got home...well we think that is the name he is going by....we were happy to have him home but his two little buddies were by far the happiest of us all!
And of course Jack needed to tell his Papa all about his day.

One Loud Baby
Jack LOVES to talk and hear himself. Throughout the day there is constant noise, most of the time cute, but being honest here after a while it can get to you. There is another Mom of a 6 month old in our building and she couldn't believe how noisy Jack was while we were taking Dutch for a walk. I just thought all babies were so vocal. Maybe he learned that from his Mom:) It was 89 out and humid, Dutch was curled up under the down comforter until 9am trying to get some peace and quiet. Poor dog. He is such a good buddy!
Jack is now rolling all around, here he is on his way out the door. I feel like the rolling on the hardwood would hurt, he holds his head up so well while he rolls it doesn't even hit it. He's fast too! His eye is now on the dog food bowl.
Ohh how I love that little loud squirming stinker.
Still feeling very overwhelmed with all of the packing and organizing. Just taking it day by day....but come on I only have 7 days until they pack me up. Not sure how much longer I can have that attitude. Keep my sanity in your prayers:) Thank you!

Love Sunday
It was finally warm and sunny here in Chicago! And by warm I mean shorts, tank tops, and the boys were sweating just walking from the car to the house type of hot. Mike tells me that it has been like this in Alabama since April. I'm going to love it! I love hot and humid! Mike and I spent the morning getting things done around the condo, its wonderful having time with my hubby. I can't even begin to express how much I miss seeing him during the week. After chores we then spent the afternoon at the parents house with the rest of the family. We all love Sunday family days, they aren't anything special, but I guess that's what actually makes them so special. We are just together. It's simple. It's nice.
This picture makes me laugh because neither one of them looks their best...but they look exactly alike!
1 year from this weekend you crazy kids will be married!!!

Promise me...
"Promise me you'll never forget me because if I thought you would I'd never leave."~Winnie the Pooh
Okay that may be a little cheesy but I am finding cute cheesy quotes now when reading stories to Jack, you may just have to deal with them occasionally making a blog appearance. Jack made his first journey into the city tonight to celebrate Lolo's 27th birthday. Every time I spend time with my girlfriends I am reminded at how much I love them and so thankful for them. It will be 9 years in August since we met as freshman at Hope College. They are now family. It's crazy how things are changing for all us, my pray is that it will only make our friendships stronger. Thanks for a fun night friends!
