It has been wonderful to have Mom here this week! Dad flew her down to Kentucky since he was headed to London for the Aerospace Tradeshow, and with me already being so dilated we were sure that baby Lucy would make her debut this week! But it is Thursday, Mom is headed home tonight, and no baby girl. She just couldn't make things easy on me could she now:)
However, Mike, Jack, and I have loved having her here with us. I told Mom our house was like Hotel California, she can check in but she can't check out. We are keeping her hostage. It's like having my best friend to hang around with all day, but she cooks and cleans too! She has helped us out with our strong-willed two year old making it possible to get lots of projects done and errands run. Nesting has been accomplished! We headed to the pool twice a day and took a long walk every night, Jack actually runs after Mimi for 1/2 a mile if not more. He is going to make us all runners. And every night we made fun home cooked meals, trying out some new fresh summer recipes. I love lots of cooks in the kitchen:)
This week has made me so excited to have a little girl as I have appreciated even more the mother daughter bond! I just love her and I can't wait to shower a little girl with love like Mom has always done for me no matter what my age (like giving me a pedi at 9 months pregnant because I can't reach my toes)! It is also so special to me that Mike loves my Mom so much and likes having her around...an awesome feeling!
Thank you Mimi for putting your life on hold this week and helping us get our Postma Home ready for Lucy!
