Pumpin Patch

Jack went to his first Pumpkin Farm this year. And oh my gosh did I love this farm!!! I think Jack and I would be very hap[y living on a farm:) This place is like heaven on earth...not the chaotic holiday farms around these days...this is a legit working farm and we fell in love. As you can tell by the pictures:)

Last RB Swim

We loved that Ross Bridge pool...so many fun memories. For us northerners 75 degrees warranted 1 more last swim of the season, and in our case our stay in the neighborhood. Not to our surprise we were the only ones there. And I am pretty sure Jack tricked his Dad into jumping in:)

Roll Tide

I know I am totally jumping all over timeline wise on this blog right now. Just trying to play catch up and document our last days in Alabama for Jacky Bear. Not sure if he will remember our days there, but I want him to be able to look back and see what fun we had and how many wonderful friends we had!

On our last weekend in Alabama we made a trip to Tuscaloosa to meet up with MHT people and say goodbye. Surprise surprise it was hot. Mostly we ate and had some drinks at the house, but then we walked down near the stadium and that Alabama heat and sun would not let up even in late September. Of course I had to bring Dutch because I felt bad leaving him at the house all day, so there we were making our way on the crowded party filled streets with a tired toddler and yorkie in my tote. I think we were all sweating. But we had to get some Bama gear before we left:)

I have to admit that Alabama has one very cool campus and lots of energy on game day...I wonder if Jack will have some calling back to the Crimson Tide campus one day????

Yardwork

 The new lawn is a lot larger than our last and has a ton of trees, which means lots of racking, big change from the condo just two years ago. Mike does all of the work, but Saturday was gorgeous so Jack and I volunteered our services as well. Pretty sure this is was the first time Jack played in the leaves and loved it. Last year he was a little weirded out by the texture. This year he cries when we have to bag them...."no no no"...is all we hear.... "put down"....

Bed Time Stories

Jack you are finally into books. Sure you liked looking through them before, but now your wiggly little butt stays still long enough to listen to a few stories. At 22 months your favorites are "Night Night Little Pookie" and "I'll Love You Forever". Mike reads about 75% of the time and I think it is one of the sweetest sounds:)

Our last night in Ross Bridge we got to spend with some of our favorite people at MHT! Jack and I had never seen the Roadshow, and it was a surprise to Mike that we got to see it in our neighborhood. Jack was a little CEO in training, he had the crowd throwing baseballs and chasing after him until after 10:30pm. In today's economy I am so thankful that Mike works for the company he does, sure we have to move to alot, but they all have each others best interest at heart which is hard to find in companies now a days. Mike has incredible role models, we have such fond memories, and it was awesome to close this BHM chapter with love:)

Going Away Party

Our super sweet friends threw us a little going away party in the neighborhood! I just love them to pieces. We were so blessed as a family to have met each and every one of them.

Honestly amazing how quickly we bonded in only 16 months.

They sent us out with style, serving "Moe's BBQ" and giving us a fun Alabama going away gifts (I already use the RB blanket like everyday).

The became like our southern family:)

They are what made Alabama feel like home to us.

Thank you for that.

Kentucky Home

Once again I have been MIA. So many posts to publish (lots of drafts) but I wanted to get out a quick update. We are all moved in to our new Kentucky home! Thankful to report that the move went so smoothly! Our moving company was great. The unpacking and packing went a million times better with them than the last company. Highly recommend New Latitude, not one single item was damaged or lost! Mom, Dad, Oma and Opa drove down to meet us Saturday afternoon. Huge help with Jack and filling our bellies. Plus it forced us to get all 5 bedrooms set up and put together right away. Everything was unpacked Saturday but things have not found found their final destination yet. This house is much more cozy than the last, and the neighborhood reminds me much more of the Chicago suburbs, which is nice. Don't get me wrong we are still out in the country like we were in Birmingham, still enjoying that feel:) Grocery shopping is only 1.5 miles away though, loving that for quick trips. Jack is adjusting well, sleeps through the night no problem and taking naps. He is eating like a teenage boy though. Jack keeps telling me he is "happy", so I think we're good. Still doesnt play by himself and stalks me all day, but whats new. Soon I am going to get him to do the household chores with me if they are just so interesting. Biggest change has been having Mike around! Feels like a family should. Preppy has even made it home for lunch twice this week! I love it. An Jack is in heaven. I didn't realize how much he missed his missed his Dad. And I didnt realize how different it I sharing the workload:) Preppy has been doing the nightly routine...amazing. Seriously my days alone with a clingy toddler 24/7 was making this mom go a little kookie (and indulge in an extra glass of wine every night). I miss having my friends around, but besides that things are going well! More to come soon...
