Christmas Fun in the Hometown
From November to January we were kind of like gypsies. Preppy traveled internationally A LOT. And I was not been up for staying alone with a 3 year old that gets up at 5am and a newborn that doesn't sleep. In the cold. With no friends. So back to Chicago we went, love you MSP for driving us back! Thankfully Mom and Dad invited us in, while they love us an incredible amount, I know that it isn't easy to have this crowd under a well decorated house. So thank you for taking us in. My kids love it, and are super spoiled because of it, but I don't mind. Being around between Thanksigivng-JacksBirthday-Christmas time is even more of a treat because I love my hometown and all of the friendly faces we get to see. It's always bittersweet being back "home" for that long, it makes me just wish to click my heels and move back to Barrington. But for now we will just enjoy whatever time we get with all of the friends and family we love!

Happy 3rd Birthday Jacky Bear
Jack Michael Postma, you crazy full of love wild boy, I can not believe you are 3 years old! We had a nice family dinner celebrating Jack, bourbon chicken dinner and a Cars themed cake. Jack and Mimi "googled" one day, Jack got to pick out the exact cake he wanted and Mimi had to try and recreate it. The boy talked about it all week. Of course it was carrot cake, the same request his Papa and Dad have for their birthdays. Jack soaked in every minute of his big day and was happy to tell everyone it was birthday. Somebody likes to be in the spotlight:) I remember that snowy December you were born like it was yesterday, sweet little bundle with a set of lungs that kept getting himself kicked out of the nursery. In someways these past 3 years seems like a blink of an eye, I can't remember life without my little JMP. But at the same time I look back at both of us and realize how much we have both "grown up", little man you have made me a better person there is no doubt in that (just with a few more wrinkles now). We made it to 3 with only one trip to kiddie ER, considering your strong Postma genes I will take that as a huge success. You are one dramatic little boy, that looks like a goof in most pictures lately, but also such a snuggly little bear that says the sweetest things a Mom could dream of. Oh Jacky Bear you are loved more than you will ever know!
End of the night breakdown....typical.

Early Christmas Celebration in GR
Because of our crazy schedule (actually just Mike's) we weren't able to make it to Grand Rapids right around Christmas, but the jet setter was able to take off a few days in between Finland and Australia so we could spend some time with the Postma family. Usually our weekends are so rushed when visit due to a wedding or family party, so it was a treat to just relax together. Jack stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's while we stayed at the J.W. Marriott with Lucy (who throughly enjoyed her time as an only child with lots of squeals and smiles). Jack still talks about his hair cut by Aunt KT, which he got done at her super cute salon Hair Technique (really wish we lived closer and she could do my hair). Jack also loved cutting down the Christmas tree with everyone! Such a fun memory. It was also great because Lucy got to meet her great grandparents, both Jolman and Postma! Jack and Noah got lots of play time together and visited Dave & Becca's new house. A lot of people and activities in a 3 night stay! We all enjoyed our trip so very much! Thinking it will be a new Postma family tradition as long as we live south...
