Jacks First Day of Preschool
Today was Jacky Bears first day of Preschool. For years I have had the internal debate of when to send him. As a first born he has gone with me everywhere, we travel a lot and I feel like our life has been one giant field trip. Last winter we signed him up for preschool, and then signed up for a summer camp to see if he enjoyed his time away from home. Well camp he loved. I was thankful Jacky Bear felt confident to leave the den....but at the same time did not like the fact he could so easily leave me. Ugh. Growing up. He has been waiting for this day for weeks. At night we count down how many "good night sleeps" until school. Last night, after reading stories, I asked him what he was most excited for tomorrow at school. He replied with "learning the Bible". Seriously I didn't even hint for that. Bless his heart. The he followed up with "using scissors and snack time". If it wasn't for camp this summer I would have been much more of an emotional mess today. Jack is so ready for school though! Lucy & I now bore him and he needs the socialization with kids his own age and structure. This morning we worked to get a good breakfast in the very excited three old, dressed him in the outfit we laid out the night before, and packed up his book bag. On the ride over Jack told me no less than twenty times that he "loves me" and "don't cry and miss me too much ok Mom". If I could bottle up those moments I would. At drop off he almost jumped out of the car. No tears at all.
When I picked Jack up at 3pm the teacher walked him to the door and told me that Jack was, "an incredibly well behaved and sweet boy". Very proud moment for this mama. Once in the car he quizzed me to how many minutes until he could go back to school. Obviously it was a successful first day:) Jack told me that next time I need to pack him a pillow for nap time, put apples in his lunch bag, and that he bumped his head on the playground but didn't cry.
My Jacky Bear is growing up....

Ahhhhh Jenny....! He is so big and so handsome!!! Don't you wish you could bottle up those moments? He is a little rockstar running into school without a tear. That's exactly what you want :)
