So Who Does He Look Like Now...
I found these baby pictures of Mike and I from around the same age Jack is now. I think he is a pretty good mix...but mostly his Daddy:)

Caitlin Makes Monday a FunDay
Caitlin stopped by this afternoon and made Monday a FunDay for us! I love her so and wish I could see this beautiful face everyday!
Weekend Update
I apologize for his blog post being a few days late, I was having some technical errors....and yes "technical" as in user errors...like I kept shutting down the computer and trying everything I could think of and the cord wasn't plugged in. Anyways...
We had a wonderful weekend! After sushi on Friday night we headed over to the "Movie in the Park".
I have always loved outdoor movie theaters. There is something romantic and nostalgic about them. When we were visiting here I saw that there were movies every other week in the park , it was just another sign that this place was for me:) A perfect night it was, like Wonder Years style, a bottle of wine, a sleeping baby, a warm summer night, good friends, and my toes in the grass. Fun it was!
Jack wasn't having the stroller but Dutch didn't mind it.
In the morning we headed over to Pepper Place, the old Dr. Pepper bottling plant, for the farmer's market. We got fresh tomatoes, peaches, and okra. Yes, that is OAK-rAH. Not Ork-AH. When I told Mike that I wanted to buy Ork-AH he laughed at me, asking if it really was possible to buy a killer whale at the farmer's market. Brian and Mike enduring the heat! It was HOT! My baby needs a fan!!!
Later Saturday night we had dinner over at the Nichols household. We had so much fun! Here are all of the boys partying, Maddy Nichols is the only girl out of the bunch, she headed to bed first leaving the boys to fight over her:) Food was great and company even better. I had homemade peach ice cream for the first time (apparently a southern staple) and I have been craving it now every night! If only I had room for an ice cream maker. Jack started to nod off just like his Gpa Rinker towards the end of the night!
Before our night was over Gina and I dragged the guys along for a night walk down to the hotel. Keven Lilies (sp?) was getting married at the resort so there were lots of celebrity sightings going on. Our quiet little neighborhood was filled with helicopters and police entourages. My big sighting was Saturday morning when Russell Simmons drove by in a Bentley convertible and gave me friendly good morning greeting. That night Gina and I were ready to rock out to some live Beyonce. I mean we totally would have gotten in if we didn't have the strollers, the dog, and the hubbies! So no luck seeing anyone, but we did see the doors that they were right behind!
Sunday was a productive day and then a pool day. All in all another wonderful weekend!
Couldn't ask for more!

Big Alabama Rain Drops, The Pool, Mojitos, and Good Friends...
Big Alabama Rain Drops, The Pool, Mojitos, and Good Friends...equals a really fun Thursday night:) Mike and I met up with Gina, Brian, and Luke after the guys got home from work. I brought over some homemade mojitos (my new obsession). They are yummy but they are not a very good traveling drink. And I was made because I forgot my muddler in Barrington, I am realizing I forgot a lot of things there as I am still unpacking! Opps. Anyways, 20 minutes into our pool time it started raining big rain drops, but there was no lighting in sight so we stayed. I felt like a little kid just loving summer time:) We are seriously enjoying being so close to a pool! Now I have to include this picture of Jack and another one of his new loves...brushing his teeth! It cracks me up!

My Cute Little 4 AM Alarm Clock
During our summer vacation Mike and Dad started calling Jack the little CEO, because he is up and ready to get his day started at 4am! There is just too much to get done during the day to waste time on sleep! Here he is zooming around the kitchen getting into everything he shouldn't way before I have even made my first cup of coffee.
He's way too cute though for me to stay frustrated! Last night I had my first "Mom's Night Out". It was so much fun! Everyday I meet more amazing women down here! I can't wait for the next night out:)
Jack is in total crawling mode. He is happier I think now that he can get around by himself, and boy is he quick! Of course he is into everything he shouldn't be into. I really need to keep baby proofing.
A new Jack discovery is that he LOVES Jimmy Buffett! He was being such a pill and then I turned on some Buffett for a dance party and he settled down. I did the same thing today and it worked again! I am loving it! For other Mom's out there here is the link to radio Margaritaville! It's worth a shot:) It either works for Jack because A.) I listened to it a lot when I was pregnant, B.) it sounds a little bit like fun kids music, C.) he is destined to be a beach bum. Lets hope his love for JB is because of A & B!

Sweet Home Chicago: Summer Vacation 2010
There have been no blog post lately because we were busy visiting with lots of family & friends back in the Chicagoland area! It was a fabulous 10 days much needed by Mike and I. Thank you Mom & Dad for hosting us:) We love ya! The 10.5 hour road trip wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. But then again I probably only drove for 45 minutes total round trip. Thanks hubby:) Jack is in bed and there is still so much housework that needs to get done, so I need to make this kind of short, but I can't help myself from posting some of my favorite photos from the trip! The rest I will post on facebook shortly!
Jack's shirt says, "Vroom Vroom off to Grandpa's". It was a perfect road trip shirt...and precious because my Dad bought the outfit about 1 year ago when we found out we were having a boy! Who would have thought that 1 year later we would be living in Bhama!
Mom bought a backyard pool for Jack since he is super spoiled by getting to play in the pool daily now!
Jack cracks up whenever you do "Cheers"!
The Bilton's had the Glantz family and us over for dinner on Saturday. It was so good to see everyone! I miss them so much! Here Ella and Logan are trying to get Jack to laugh:)
Aunt Leah is always teaching Jack new things.
Dutch was happy to have his BFF back!
Little Cheese Ball.
Dad with all of his kids at the Cubs game! We had AMAZING seats and they WON!!! Thanks Dad!!!!
Oma and Opa came down to visit:)
Wynstone Pool on Mike's 28th Birthday!!!!
Michael Scott Postma you get better with every year:) Happy Birthday Hot Stuff!!!!
Backyard sunset.
He's pretty excited about being 28.
Nice face Bear.
Mike's extra large carrot cake! If you have seen "It's Complicated" then maybe you will laugh at the "Big Guy"...if you haven't seen that movie you should it is hilarious!
At the Bilton's before the Barrington Brat Tent!
Ahh Sisters:)
Jack in the same high chair Ben and I used!
On Saturday we went up to Pine Lake to join the rest of our family for the 4th of July and Opa's 82nd Birthday celebration! Jack had his first life jacket experience. He wasn't too sure about it. We showed him how cool it was, even the dogs were sporting one:)
They don't look alike at all do they????

I was a little cry baby leaving on Sunday night. It is just a weird feeling knowing that my family is 10.5 hours away now instead of 10.5 minutes. However, once we finally got home on Monday morning I was so happy to walk in the door and feel like I am HOME. Plus I got to meet up with my friends at the pool and they made me feel 100 times better and totally confident that things are going to be okay! And my Dad spilled the surprise that my Mom and him are coming down for a long weekend visit at the end of July! I have a million more pictures and fun memories from our trip, but I figured that some pics are better than none! I need to get back to my daily blogging!
