Lucy Hope: 6 Through 9 Months

Lucy Hope where in the world has this year gone?!?! As I start to plan for your first birthday and I look through all of your pictures, it dawned on me that I need to update your milestones! From 6 months through 9 months you grew leaps and bounds both physically and your precious personality (with just the right amount of sass).

6 Months: First 3 teeth and you do not like teething! Super cranky, clingy, and plain unhappy. Until 6 months you weren't given a bottle, but at 6 months we introduced formula and tried to get you to cut back on breastfeeding. This was a battle until you were 9 months old and 3 weeks (Mommy even missed a trip to Costa Rica because you just wouldn't give in). You still sleep next to us in the cosleeper at night (mostly in the bed when Daddy is traveling) and wake to feed at least twice but more like 3 times. While you are easy going you are not a good sleeper either at night or nap time. I think that your brother is just too darn entertaining for you. You love to play with your feet and put them in your mouth. My favorite thing to hear is your precious giggles! At 6 months you were 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. Sitting up all on your own and rolling from side to side. Still a little peanut at just 15.9 pounds and 25.5 inches long.

7 Months Old: Love to eat "big people" food and will try absolutely anything! From cod fish to corned beef to Brussels sprouts. Still not a bottle fan, but the nursing has been cut back, so you eat like 5 meals a day. Not a fan of purred food, you like when you can pick it up yourself. Love the foodie in you but not that Mom is in the kitchen all day preparing for you sweet little diva. Sleeping is still not great but you are so snugly now, Lucy you are totally clued into what we are doing. Always observing and never wanting to be left out! The social butterfly that you are has never left you shy to go to anyone, but until this month Mommy was your favorite. Now you reach for Daddy, Mimi, Papa, and Jack. Your world is opening up, it is not longer just me. You are a fabulous traveler! Planes, cars, sleeping in different spots....you go with the flow and I love it. A side note has to be added that while you don't complain while traveling you do complain if your brother is not in the backseat of the car, you do not like to be back there alone. Sweet and spoiled you are our angel baby!

8 Months Old: The teeth are coming in like crazy and you have a HUGE appetite but won't take the bottle. Now in 6 to 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers. I had to take you into the doctors this month because you were so cranky convinced it was acid reflux or an ear infection, but it was confirmed that you are spoiled. You don't want to be anywhere else then on my hip and next to my side at night. The sibling bond in strengthening  and you want to be wherever Jack is. At 8 months 2 weeks you finally started crawling and at 8 months 3 weeks you started pulling up on the furniture and cruising.  Sleep training started at 8 months 3 weeks but you cry every night, well one night we got a full nights sleep, but only one. Lucy you love to play with our lips and pretend to kiss us. And love to be tickled!

9 Months Old: This month you were slowly weaned from nursing, it took until the third week in your 9 month until you fully accepted a bottle. Old school Playtex nursers with latex nipples and the Costco brand formula was the perfect combo. You love to eat fingers foods but will no longer eat purred baby food. Now that you are mobile and fast, you follow your brother everywhere. The sibling fights have started. Jack and Lucy you always want the same toy at the same time in the same space. Jack really hasn't minded having you around until now, now you into his things. Jack does his best to be sweet but when he gives you a little attitude Lucy you give it right back. Mid month you started climbing the stairs. You are very vocal and join in on our converstations. Still working on getting you to sleep through the night without waking. At the park this month we learned that you love the swing and it makes you belly laugh. In general you prefer to be outside somedays banging at the door to get out. This month you did start to pull out your hair bows, Mommy does not like this as our motto is "No bow, no go". I love our little shopping outings together and I soak in all of the sweet comments thrown your way by everyone. I love being your Mom so very much. Still our dainty little baby girl at 17'14 pounds and 28.5 inches.

What a little beautiful girl you have on your hands! :) I laughed out loud at some of the comparisons as B is over 24 lbs and STILL trying to figure out crawling at 11 months.

I hope Lucy has since figured out sleeping better, it's a whole new world when that happens!

And the car - it's the same with B! If L is back there with him he is generally happy. We go anywhere alone and it's not very pleasant!
