The Pool Is A Different Story This Year

So last year Jack mainly crawled around in the splash pad sometimes whining to be taken in the big pool or baby pool. This year the little Bear is RUNNING all over the place! During the first few weeks of pool season he waited for me to get in first before he jumped in, now he is MUCH more daring. It is scary. This momma has be on the lookout at all times.

Still working on getting him to climb out of the side and float on his back. Just this week Jack started asking for his "Puddle Jumper", funny now he sees what other kids are wearing and he wants to wear his too. I'm okay with him wearing it sometimes, just scared that he will rely on it and not realize when it isn't on. We opted not to do swim lessons this year for three reason. First, I taught swim lessons for years so I know what to do (but getting your own child to listen to you is much different). Second, we have Aunt Lala to help teach him during all of your trips back to Chicago. Third, I can't see Jack actually retaining any info/skills yet as I know he would be crying the whole time! So next year. This year I am just trying to work on his swim skills a little bit each day:)

I see my friends down here daily, but when the pool opens I get to see so many more daily. It's great! We have morning play dates, or afternoon play dates, or my favorite dinner at the pool! So thankful for all of our buddies down here, very spoiled!

On another "blog" related note I can't believe I actually had 3 comments yesterday! I really thought the only people who read this thing were my parents (who don't know how to comment) and just a few friends. Thanks for the sweet notes they are keeping me motivated to get back to the almost daily blog routine!
