When we got back at 2am on Leap Day it was feeling like spring. Our daffodils were blooming. The Wade Family was going to visit from Birmingham for the weekend, but on Friday morning I got a text from Volree concerned about the weather. Obviously there is no James Spann in Kentucky because I had no clue it was supposed to be so awful out! The Louisville morning news was not making it seem like it would be that bad of storms on Friday, then I tuned into the Weather Channel and saw that the "storm chaser" guy was headed to my new town. It did not look like a good idea for the Wade's to make the road trip up to Louisville as Louisville to Nashville was the bulls eye for March 2nd's storms. It was humid, hot, windy, with sporadic sunshine. I learned last April that this was not a good combo. In tornado country you have to take the weathermen seriously. So Jack and I hung out at the house for most of the day and planned out our "safe spot" in the basement.

Mike got home just in time for the sirens to go off. It got really windy and there was really heavy rainfall but then it was quickly over and no damage done. I thought one of the perks moving to Kentucky is that they didn't have such awful tornadoes!?!?
After the storms it cooled down from 75 degrees to 50 degrees. It was so cold Saturday night and Sunday we still got to have a fires. I mean in March? I will take a cozy fire any day though, no complaining about that part. Barefoot Friday and bundled up like an eskimo on Sunday.
On Monday morning when we woke up there was snow! After the exciting doctors appointment Jack and I stayed indoors. There was a lot of facebooking, online shopping, and snuggles done:)
And our hearty little Daffodils survived it all!
