This past weekend we made our first family field trip out to Woodford Reserve. It was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, but still too chilly to stay at the park that long, so we figured why not explore our new state!
A perk of moving as frequently as we are is that there are endless ideas for "staycations". The Woodford Reserve grounds are beautiful. Jack made it through the 1.5 hour guided tour (it was supposed to be 45 minutes). All of the walking and talking and boiling barrels kept his attention. As well as the short bus and bottling house cat. As a history nerd (yes American Pickers and Modern Marvels are among my favorite shows) I found hearing stories about the Prohibition era so interesting. Preppy probably found what makes a good Bourbon more interesting!
I am sure we will be making trips back there with our out of town guests as it gives a great feel for this Bluegrass State we are learning to love (ok well like first then comes love).
