Thank you Mike for making the late night trip to Chicago on Thursday. For 5.5 hours in the car Jack just kept saying "today Mimi's house", he was such a happy boy when we got to Mimi's around 11pm (obviously my Dad lives there too but in Jack's mind the house is Mimi's). Friday morning Jack got to color Easter Eggs with Mimi, welcome Papa home from the Masters, and go to the Club for a family dinner. The boy likes to be surrounded by his people!
Saturday morning Jack woke up early with a hoarse voice, it sounded like the little man had been sitting in the Cubs Bleachers the night before. He didn't have a runny noes or cough but he was a little off. We took him downtown Barrington to see the Easter Bunny and Petting Zoo, but he wasn't really digging it. Once we got home he was thrilled to see his Oma and Opa though! I mean they give him undivided attention and German chocolate, who wouldn't be in love?!? Saturday evening we enjoyed a delicious Oma meal and time together around the dinner table. I can't thank my sweet husband enough for his willingness to make the road trips and my family for always making it such a warm homecoming!
