Easter 2012 was a wonderful day spent surrounded by family. The day started off with a spectacular celebration service at Willow Creek including a marching band to kick off the worship! Jack missed the marching band though because he told us he wanted to "play with kids" and go to Promiseland. I have to admit I was a little sad, that probably sounds bizarre considering I talk a lot about how clingy he is, but it was just proof that my little boy won't be a little boy forever. Mike reassured me that it is evidence we are doing this parenting thing right and not that he is just sick of us. There were no tears when we dropped him off and he was so happy to show us the instrument he made when we picked him up.
After church we stuffed and hid about 100 eggs outside for Jack. He was one focused boy and found them all with very little help from the yorkies. Of course Jack was spoiled with Easter gifts from Mimi & Papa, Ben & Leah, and Oma & Opa. At 28 months Jack loves all gifts, so sweet how everyone thinks of him!
We tried our best to get family pictures but it was a very difficult task with the combination of wind, super sun, and a non cooperative two year old. The delicious brunch was made by Oma, Mom, Leah, and Barb. I lucked out and only had to bring a Derby Pie for dessert:) Our family sticks to the traditional meal menu of a ham, cheesy potatoes, veggies, fruit salad, greens salad, rolls, and a lamb cake for dessert. Right after brunch we loaded up the Suburban and headed back to Kentucky with very full stomachs. Jack did awesome and didn't even cry when we told him we were leaving Dutch behind for a couple of weeks. The poor dog needs a vaca! So excited that next year Baby Girl will get to join in on the Easter fun...
