Kentucky Derby Fun

It is a fun time to live in Louisville with so many fun activities leading up to the big Derby Day. While we aren't going to the Derby this year (I want to wait until I can sip on a mint julep) we have been taking part in what we can, family friendly style. Last Thursday we headed down to the riverfront for the Chow Wagon, it was too windy for the balloons to light up but still lots of fun. On Friday night we headed to the Great Balloon Glow, that was gorgeous! Jack was in awe of the hot air balloons and it was a perfect night. We felt All American. Of course I have a soft spot for hot balloons with my Grandpa Wes flying his hot air balloon the "Flying Baseball" for many years. Couldn't help but think of him as they all took glow at night. I am really bad at taking initiative to drive to new places, with a demanding toddler and lack of direction I just always feel like I am going to get lost. So I greatly appreciate Mike's willingness to chauffeur us around our new city...with a smile of course! The little family outings are my favorite, and by far Jack's favorite thing too!
