Mom and I successfully made our first road trip to Wisconsin with two kids and two yorkies. There is nothing better than a leisurely day spent at Oma and Opa's house. Jack loves going there and playing with his Opa, who in his eighties, entertains Jack the entire day!
We also got to visit with Uncle Mike and Aunt Debbie, and my great Aunts. They all came bearing gifts for the little ones, it was almost like a little family shower, which was totally unexpected but very appreciated!
Oma had a buffet of wonderful fresh food from the garden food, the woman is amazing. I saw this quote today and of course it reminded me of her, "A good cook is like a sorceress who dispenses happiness". Everyone enjoyed catching up, the ladies couldn't believe how big Jack had gotten, and were very impressed with is counting to 10 in German (something Opa taught him).
If I lived closer I would be there once a week. If they would have us of course! Just love our visits.
